Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test - OSSLT Sucessful completion of the Literacy test is a component of the OSS Diploma. The test is run and marked by the Education Quality Accountability Office, EQAO. Sample tests and practice for writing the OSSLT can be found at www.peelschools.org or www.eqao.com.

Commencement A variety of awards and scholarships are available to graduating students. Presentation of these awards will take place at our annual Commencement Ceremony. See your counsellor for more information.
Subject Awards Each year, subject departments recognize the top student in each course. Awards are presented to students at the awards assembly ceremony held during the fall of the following year. See your teachers/counsellor for more details.
Honour Roll Students with an over all average of 80% and above each semester will have their names posted on the honour roll. The list will be posted in the student office at midterms and finals.
Community Involvement – 40 Hours All students are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The purpose of the community involvement requirement is to encourage students to develop awareness and understanding of civic responsibility and of the role they can play and the contributions they can make in supporting their communities. Involvement at school and in the community is a proud tradition at B.S.S.. Get Involved!
